Photo of the day – Aberaeron

As I become a 24/7 wheelchair user, as my feet give out and EDS pokes it tongue out at my attempts to defy it, I am having to find new ways of taking photographs. I spend a lot of time driving about the sparsely populate county of Ceredigion. Part of Ceredigion clings to the middle of the West Wales coast, on a good day, views to rival those of some of the best locations in the world. As I drive I am now learning to play spot the lay-by incase theres a good photograph opportunity I can grab, from the comfort of my car, or just leaning on it outside of it. This photograph was taken from one such lay-by. One I will be revisiting as the seasons change and the daylight hours lengthen. Here is my first shot over looking Aberaeron. If you are ever this way, make sure you pull into the town itself and stop for a while. The brightly painted houses give light to the darkest day. Nestled there is a lovely harbour, with pretty views over the church and out to sea. The Hive is a fabulous place to stop for a cup of coffee or an ice cream in season. If you have a bit more time, their menu for lunch is good! There are many other eateries in Aberaeron and some quaint little shops. Well worth a visit!

Photo of the day – Challenges

It has already been a fairly tempestuous start to 2018. Squabbles within the family, me feeling frustrated and trying to get back into the rhythm of school runs again. However I’m moving through it and not becoming bogged down by it. Life is full of challenges it’s up to us how we meet them.

I’ved used a photo of my aircast boots to demonstrate this. 2016 when they first came into my life, there we so many changes my life literally felt like it was spiralling out of control. I ended up going into a pit of darkness. I gave up on them after a few months, but the depression remained.

Beginning of last year I managed to start beating depression and moving on. Even If i can sometimes hear the black dog growl, it isn’t welcome back! When I was told I’d needed these again later end of last year, I feared returning to the dark place, so I decided to meet the challenge of them head on. I am doing far better because of it! Sometimes it is best to meet challenges head on rather than hide from them.

Photo of the day – Socks

As part of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome my feet are giving out on me. Every time I stand up my bones and ligaments click and pop and move, causing pain and instability. Last few weeks this is leading to small bones in my feet to start to fracture. I cannot wear the pretty shoes I once loved. However I still can wear colourful socks! I love socks. I think my passion for shoes has now been moved onto socks!

Today’s photo of the day is my favourite long warm fluffy socks.  IMG_0347
